Water Harvesting
Water Harvesting & Green Campus
Brilliant Grammar School Educational Society’s Group of Institutions – Integrated Campus (BRIG) takes immense pride in being a truly eco-conscious and ISO-certified green campus. Sustainability, conservation, and environmental balance form the cornerstone of our institutional vision. Our campus infrastructure integrates modern green technologies with natural resource management practices to create a cleaner, healthier, and energy-efficient environment for students and staff.
A major initiative under our Green Campus Drive is the implementation of an advanced Rain Water Harvesting System across the premises. These harvesting pits and recharge wells efficiently collect and store rainwater from rooftops and open areas. The stored water percolates into the ground, enriching the groundwater table and significantly reducing water scarcity. This sustainable practice not only helps in water conservation but also mitigates soil erosion and minimizes waterlogging during heavy rains.
The excess rainwater is systematically directed into deep sewers and recharge pits surrounding the campus, ensuring the steady maintenance of the local water table and supporting the lush green environment that BRIG is known for. The institution’s continuous focus on maintaining greenery has transformed the entire campus into a serene, pollution-free zone with well-maintained lawns, trees, and garden spaces that promote environmental awareness among students.
Students are actively encouraged to take part in environmental research and innovation. Many final-year projects focus on optimizing water harvesting systems, waste management, and energy conservation. Regular seminars, awareness campaigns, and expert lectures are organized to expose students to advanced sustainability concepts and emerging technologies. Through these initiatives, BRIG continues to stand as a model institution for green education and sustainable living.
