REPORT ON MEASURES TAKEN TO IMPROVE SLOW LEARNERS

1) Identifying slow learners:
The slow learners were identified at the beginning of academic year with help of class animators. Slow learners were identified during orientation program, which was held at the beginning of academic year and after conducting the first internal examination. A special focus was given on such students by the class animator with the help of subject teachers.

2) Counseling the students:
Student counseling was carried out by the class animators on academic matters, personal problems, placement and career planning. The counseling was done based on need and request of the students.

3) Mentoring the students:
Along with counseling by the course teacher, the class animator also conducted counseling for students, who were slow in learning a particular subject. The performance of the students was analysed and guidance was given to improve further.

4) Remedial Class for Slow learners:
Slow learners were identified by the respective subject teachers based on the student’s mid-term scores, CIA performance and class interactions. The remedial class was conducted in order to help them to score better marks in their final exams.

5) Personal guidance on preparation for examination:
Slow learners were supported by the class animators and subject teachers in the form providing study material, question bank and review of previous years question papers. Personal guidance was provided to them during the time of end semester examination.
